An Idea For A Game For Claire House Children's Hospice:

A Friendly Reassuring, & Interactive Introduction

Claire House
Having visited Claire House Children's Hospice based in Wirral, & near Cheshire, & knowing others working there or raising funds, I wondered if there was something that could be created for them. A simple, yet fun, colourful interactive game to introduce Claire House to their new visitors.

Their Mission Statement:
“The aim of Claire House Children’s Hospice is to enhance the quality of life for children and young people with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, offering a high quality service, with both personal and professional support.

In partnership with the child or young person and their family, individual needs will be met; those of their family and significant carers will be recognised and respected in a safe ‘home from home’ environment.”

I spoke to my contacts; 1 thought it a great idea & would help if needed, & I e-mailed then had a chat with another contact who works there. As this was not her department, we could not take it any further. I was awaiting the contact details of the person who does, but decided that this was not the right project to follow for this module.

Part of the game was to design their character, style themselves with clothes, hair etc. Some of my research involved looking at young people's games & fashion games:
dressupgames.com
i-dressup.com
girlsgogames.co.uk
oyunlar1.com

I am sure I have played some of the above with my Niece - who is 5...a lot of these games are very young in style; both artwork & fashions.
dressup9x.com -however I found a 'Bella Cullen' game here for a more teen/older girl market, with more life-like graphics & a trend-led wardrobe.

Some Initial Sketch Ideas

Some ideas that came out of hearts & love; eyes, cute flying creatures etc

As some may have lost hair, I had the idea to be able to create their own character, or add their image, & choose from a selection of hairstyles, make-up & outfits etc.
Care & Love & Safety Via FB
I also looked at songs & videos for the younger market, & would have researched further age brackets if I took this idea further, as there are children & young people of all ages who visit here, including brothers & sisters. I was also looking at a section for the parents.

Movie: Shark Tale Song: Car Wash - Christina Aguilera & Missy Elliott. Fun & upbeat!

Friendly & welcoming & fun!
